The Fabulous Baker Girls!

York Against Cancer is known for its fantastic volunteers, and we have two terrific new recruits in Libby Heptonstall and Ellie Sutton, both 11.

The kind-hearted girls got their heads together to raise money for us after hearing about a friend losing a relative to cancer.

They baked a batch of delicious buns and took them around to neighbours in Huntington, raising an impressive £7.22.

“We wanted to do something like this for a charity and we thought York Against Cancer would be a good one,” said Libby.

“Most people bought our buns, but some people just gave us money!” said Ellie.

“I am very proud of them,” said Ellie’s mum, Carla. “They did it all, they made the posters, stuck them up around the estate and did all the baking themselves – they just left the cleaning up to me!”

We think the girls did brilliantly. Well done to the pair of them!
