Make It York rowers make our day

Staff from the city’s marketing agency Make It York put their backs into it when they tackled a major charity challenge for us.
A team of around 20 rowers from the organisation took to the Ouse in this year’s Dragon Boat race, organised by the Rotary Club of York.
The Make It Float crew battled their way to a fantastic £1,200-plus in sponsorship and donations.
The rowers’ cash was shared between local Rotary charities and ourselves.
“The team didn’t win the race, but they had a fun day,” said Make It York MD Steve Brown. “We work closely with local organisations and it was great to raise money for a good local cause like York Against Cancer. They do a terrific job.”
Julie Russell, our general manager, said she was delighted with the £600 raised by the Make It Float team. “They showed great dedication – we depend on people like them to do the work we do.”
