Strangers boost fundraiser's efforts for us
Our fantastic fundraiser Dr Stuart Parker has had a very touching boost from some kindhearted villagers on his tough journey from John O'Groats to Land's End. After two hours cycling through heavy rain south of Chester he arrived at a small village called Worthenbury and noticed a sign for a fundraising coffee morning at the village hall. "The people were incredibly friendly and I was enjoying my coffee and the warmth," said Stuart. "Chat turned to my ride and raising money for York Against Cancer. One of the ladies then announced to the room what I was doing and that a collection should be made. An amazing £64 pounds was donated! Such generosity from strangers makes the effort even more worthwhile and will push monies raised well beyond £2000."
On behalf of York Against Cancer, thank you, Worthenbury! if any readers would like to give Stuart another boost, they can do so at his JustGiving page http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/LandsEndorbust
