Travel agents dream up fundraising trip

The charity-minded staff of an East Yorkshire travel agency whisked a coachload of passengers off for a Christmas adventure in aid of our charity.

The team from Hays Travel in Pocklington dreamed up a fundraising trip to Harrogate’s Christmas Market to drum up support for us.

Demand for the seasonal day trip was so strong that they almost filled their coach, and generous passengers boosted the takings by buying raffle tickets and competing in a fundraising quiz.

Altogether the travel agents raised £302, and had a great time doing it.

“We really enjoyed ourselves!” said Hays Travel Pocklington manager Michelle Creaser. “Everyone was very generous, including town shopkeepers who gave lovely prizes for the raffle.

“ It’s great to raise money for a good local cause like York Against Cancer, and we’re already planning our next trip, which we hope will be to Lincoln Christmas market.”
