£2,000 boost for York to Paris charity bike riders

30th May 2017

York Pedallers, the valiant band of cyclists who took on a York to Paris bike ride on behalf of York Against Cancer, have had a £2,000 boost from a friendly Yorkshire business. Petrol station specialists Brookfield Group made the generous donation to help the Pedallers on their way to raising a £14,000 target that they had promised to raise for us in our 30th anniversary year.

The sponsorship was pledged to the Pedallers at Brookfield’s flagship site, Shell Pocklington  Services on the A1079 near York. Aziz Patel of the Brookfield Group said they were only too delighted to sponsor the Pedallers, who include among their number Graham Kennedy, the York businessman behind the city’s Inner Space petrol stations.

Aziz said staff and customers at Pocklington played a big part in helping local and regional charities such as York Against Cancer.“It is a great cause and so many people have been touched by the effects of cancer upon their family and friends,” he said.

The Pedallers are still welcoming donations at their JustGiving page, https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/YorkPedallers1
