York foodies raise money for us!

19th September 2017

Fundraising never tasted so good. Leading York restaurant El Piano, in Grape Lane, has generously offered to boost our funds by hosting a Community Table during York’s Festival of Food and Drink.

For five days from September 25-29, for just £10 per person, diners will get the chance to dine with new friends on El Piano’s community tables, and enjoy all they can eat in an hour from the award-winning food selected and served up for you by this brilliant vegan restaurant.

The restaurant does this with fruit and veg kindly supplied free of charge by York wholesaler Simon Baynes and  all the money raised is shared equally between us at York Against Cancer and another good cause, Mummy’s Star.

El Piano Director Magdalena Chavez said: “We are proud to be supporting these two great charities again, and we’re delighted that Simon has been able to give us the fruit and veg we need to make it happen.”

Simon Baynes said: “We’re really happy to help out with El Piano’s fantastic fundraising event, and to be supporting such good causes.”

The Community Table will run from noon until 2pm on a first-come, first-served basis, with last orders taken at 1.30pm.

El Piano has been voted York’s best café for five out of the last six years, so diners are sure of a wonderful meal.

El Piano is at 15-17 Grape Ln, York YO1 7HU, 01904 610676
