Christmas trip reaps rewards for us

The generous staff of Hays Travel, Pocklington, thought of us for the second year running when they organised a Christmas Market charity bus trip.

They took a coachload of happy passengers off to the Christmas market at Lincoln last month in a venture that proved a complete sell-out.

Passengers once again boosted the firm’s takings by buying raffle tickets and competing in a fundraising quiz during their journey.

Their efforts meant the trip handsomely exceeded last year’s £300 total, with Hays Travel raising a magnificent £450 for us in 2018.

“We’re so touched that Hays Travel thought of us again when they organised this trip,” said York Against Cancer’s general manager, Julie Russell. “We’d like to thank them and everyone who went along and supported us so generously.”

Michelle Creaser, manager at Hays Travel Pocklington, said she had been delighted by the response to the trip.

Local shops had been very generous with gifts for the raffle and there had been a lot of interest in the trip itself. “We could have filled two coaches!” she said.
