Primary and Secondary School Education Packs

We have produced a primary school pack, entitled ‘Young and Healthy’, which follows the National Curriculum and provides teachers with lesson plans to give young children information. One lesson, ‘Glitter Germs’, was devised by our education committee member Sophie Tams as a fun way of teaching children the basics of good hygiene, using glitter to show how germs spread from person to person. This pack is available on a memory stick from York Against Cancer's offices or by dowloading it from a button on this page.

Our secondary school pack ‘Dispelling the myths’ has also been developed for teachers to use for lesson planning. As well as germs, the packs cover important subjects like healthy eating, sun awareness and many more related to cancer and how young people can reduce their chances of getting the disease by adopting a healthy lifestyle. The pack is available for dowload from a button on this page.

We have also produced a presentation on cancer awareness whcih would be suitable for a variety of audiences. 'Cancer Awareness - a presentation' is also available for dowload from a button on this page.
