How to apply

We want to help local people living with cancer to take advantage of this free break away.

To apply for a break away you need to fill in a referral form and get the support and signature of your doctor or senior nurse. You can download the form from the link to the right of this page or obtain one from the Cancer Care Centre, our shop at York Hospital and most GP surgeries.

Please return the completed form to the address listed on the form.

You can stay at our holiday homes once in a year and can choose to visit either Filey or Whitby. You can choose to stay from Friday to Monday (three nights) or Monday to Friday (four nights).   

During subsequent years, one further visit is possible as long as the referral criteria is met. However, new patients will take priority.

Once a date has been agreed we will require a £50 deposit to confirm the booking. This should be in the form of a cheque, which can be returned at the end of your stay unless you wish to donate it towards the upkeep of the apartment.
