During the coronavirus pandemic we’re still offering care, support and advice to local cancer patients.

We continue to fund staff at York’s Cancer Care Centre, pioneering cancer research, and our £1m mobile chemotherapy unit remains a key part of local NHS services.

Minibus service to St James's, Leeds

We are pleased to say that our service resumed on Monday 22nd June last year and it is continuing to function during the current 2021 lockdown. Government advice is being strictly followed in order to keep our drivers and passengers safe whilst using this service.

Respite homes

We're sad to say that we have once more had to close our respite properties due to the current lockdown and will be unable to offer this service until government restrictions are lifted. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we will keep you updated as soon as the situation changes.

An Important Update From the Cancer Care Centre and York Hospital

The Cancer Care Centre is still there for you whether you need information or general support. Please follow the link below to see an update in advice when travelling to York hospital. Although the drop-in service is currently not available, you can still contact them via telephone Monday to Friday 9am – 4.30pm on 01904 721166.

Care and support

We are here to help. Whether you or a loved one is affected by cancer, we can offer information resources as well as a number of practical support services.

Cancer Awareness and Prevention

Working closely with doctor’s surgeries, groups and many local schools our work raises awareness of cancer, helping to increase the likelihood of early detection and prevention.

Groundbreaking cancer research

Cancer research has always been at the heart of our work. We fund vital research projects into bladder, prostate and other types of cancers. Our five-year £1 million research programme supports the Jack Birch Unit at the University of York.
